Day 1948: Brain Overflow

I thought today was going to go differently. Actually, I’m rather unhappy with my diet at the moment. I know I need to be more strict, and be sensible with what I eat. 3 weeks today something is going on, and I want to look good for it, so I’m going to be focused on what I’m consuming.

I spent a bit of time today just doing everything I wanted, then realised that I had not planned out this weeks podcast, and did a little panicking. That was a fun time, I did message a lot of people about it too, and luckily, there were some good responses. All hope was not lost.

I know there’s stuff to do tomorrow, so I’ll be doing that, and I know I need to sort some flight information out too, but I have time for that, however I’d rather get that done sooner than later. I’m surprised that I haven’t got that done already to be honest.

Rachyrock and I have spent a lot of time recently watching SortedFood on youtube and have been really enjoying it. It just makes me want to learn how to cook even more, how to spice and season things appropriately and how all the flavours work together. Once I get over, I think I’ll be wanting to do a lot of cooking, something that at the moment, I’m not really doing, but also, right now I’m not really discovering new recipes that I can make and test out.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1947: Complete

Today my friends and I completed our D&D campaign that we’ve been playing for the last few months. In what was originally going to be a few week journey to last until I was leaving the country ended stretched out to be much longer than we were anticipating.

We had an epic final battle, and saw two of the party meaningfully die at the end of the session, with the whole story arc reaching a somewhat thrilling conclusion. We all had a blast playing, and it’s been a lot of fun. Now the next two weeks we’ll probably play Legendary next week, and the week after go out for a meal and have a laugh.

It was a satisfying resolution to the games we’ve been playing and I think everyone enjoyed it. All in all, I’m glad we finished the story my friend had written, and that everyone was somewhat happy with where everything ended. There were a few shocks along the way, but it was a great adventure.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1946: Realising

Today I put out a podcast, a podcast that I recorded and edited and uploaded today. It can be found here!

Also, all of my stuff got collected today for shipping to America. So then I did a little bit of clearing up.

Last night was my work meal out, saying goodbye to everyone I worked with. It was a great meal, I had some very tasty food, and lots of good conversation. It was an enjoyable catch up, but once it was over, everything started to sink in a little more.

I know that the next few weeks are going to be a little odd. I need to find myself something to keep myself more entertained than video games, hopefully I’ll start getting through some of the books that I’ve got so that I can learn some things.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1945: Wrestling Wednesday!

It’s been an odd week in Wrestling. Not much is going on, as things are building to the next events, but this week really was just a holding pattern. No real storylines progressed much, other than the Lars Sullivan turning up and beating up Matt Hardy.

In NXT it was cool to see them hyping up Kushida, who will be on this weeks episode against Kassius Ohno, and I’m just hopeful that it’s a good match, actually, Kassius Ohno is a great wrestler, and I can’t wait to watch the match.

It was cool to see some discord within the Undisputed Era, and also the Gargano vs Roderick Strong match was good. I like where all of that is going, and I like Matt Riddle’s little spat with Adan Cole. It seems like there’s a lot of good things coming, and I hope there is more Keith Lee soon, and some use of him, hopefully against Dream, that’d be I think a good pairing.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got this week, have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1944: 2019 Progress Report, April Edition

Tomorrow, May begins.

As such, let’s review the progress of the year so far against my goals!

I have covered 10km over the last few days! It’s been a good time running, I have had a few short runs. So, I’m finally making progress again! I have a lot of running still to do this year, so I’m going to be getting back to it.

Another song was completed! Woo, progress, but as I’ll say later, I’ll not be able to record for a while.

I’ve not really read any more. I’ve not learned any more about Nobel Prizes either, but I am happy with how I’ve been writing recently.

I have left my job! I am travelling to America on the 17th May, and all of my things are either packed, or due to be packed. Stuff is getting shipped later this week, and by the end of next month, I should be going through even more paperwork for the future. If I thought April was crazy, May will be in a different league. I’m looking forward to it all, but there’s a long time to go.

I’ve been busy sorting stuff out, but things are pretty much all organised.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1943: Music Monday!

Another week reflecting on Starbombs the TryForce, I still like it. There are songs that I skip every time now, which is a shame, but the same as every other album of theirs.

I spent the weekend listening to Frank Turner, just listening to last years album, Be More Kind, and Positive Songs for Negative People. I like listening to his music, and just put it on loud for the whole house to hear, which was a good experience. We all got a lot of stuff done.

While driving, the small amount I’ve needed to drive, I’ve put on Plini to enjoy and listen to. Just some chilled out instrumental prog. Very enjoyable to just enjoy in the background.

As for anything else, well, I’ve not really been spending my time hunting stuff down.

That’s it for today! Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Peace -x-

Day 1942: Pizzas!

Today I went over to my cousins house as a final get together before the big adventure begins, and we all caught up for a couple of hours and chilled out, and made pizzas. We made a lot of pizzas, with fresh dough, and toppings galore. It was a very enjoyable get together, and we all had a wonderful time chatting, catching up and talking about the future.

There’s a lot of change going on, some of the family have new jobs to go to, and I’m about to move away, and as a last meet up goes, it went really well.

I made two pizzas to my liking because no one was really taking charge and asking for anything in particular, so I loaded up two pizzas with tomato sauce, red onions, chillies, mozzarella, bell peppers, and a little bit of cheddar cheese. They went over well, and actually I think, despite only 3 of the 11 of us being vegetarians, that of the pizzas made, 80% of them were veggie friendly.

I had a good day, but it suddenly feels like everything is happening so fast now. And that’s crazy!

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Peace -x-

Day 1941: Inefficient

I have spent a bunch of time playing Sky Factory 4 today. I’m not playing efficiently at all, but it’s going well. I like the progression of the pack, but it does feel a little overwhelming from time to time, and trying to figure things out is some times a little difficult.

I think it’s significantly enough different that it could made a decent series for the Achievement Hunters, however, I don’t think that it’s been enough time since Sky Factory 3, even though that probably ended a year ago.

I did a little run yesterday, and again today, and my foot is starting to feel like it’s good enough to run on. That’s encouraging and good news, and I’m hoping to get back into it, but I no longer have my gym membership, so I only have my legs, my shoes, and wherever I can find to run that’s relatively simple to run on.

Tomorrow I’m going to catch up with my cousins and Aunt and Uncle, we’re all going to make pizza and chill out, and it’ll probably be the last time I’ll see them for a decent amount of time.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Peace -x-

Day 1940: 4 Boxes

I packed boxes today. All of my stuff that I’m shipping, all in 4 boxes. It was an eventful day, I went for a run, I got back, then I got right on with packing all of my things. It wasn’t simple, I needed to keep track of what was in which box, so I had to note down where everything is, so I have a few lists of what is in each box.

I then had to fill in a bunch of forms for shipping all of the stuff. That also took a bunch of time, but at least I’d listed everything as I had a customs declaration to fill in. I got all my forms completed and emailed off, and I booked my taxi to the airport too. I’m travelling 3 weeks today. It feels incredibly close, and I can’t believe how close it really is. I think I’ve done nearly everything I need to as well. Which isn’t bad for a week where I’ve felt I’ve been kind of taking it easy. At the same time, I’ve still got a lot of stuff in the house I’ve got to sell/dispose of, so I’ve got to focus on that the next week, so that I leave nothing behind.

I thought I wanted to play games, so I loaded up Path of Exile, but I ended up putting it down, and learning all about triads on guitar, so that I could, with practice emulate the style of Hendrix. Sure, I’ve got a long way to do, but sucking at something is the first step to being sort of good at something, as a wise thing once said. So I played guitar until my fingers hurt, and then typed this. Good job me!

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1939: Condensing

I recorded a podcast with Shoban, and that came out today! We talked about some things, including a trip to serious town about personality being shaped and drawn out by the jobs we do, and then also about the new Starbomb album. You can check it out here!

Today I went and saw Endgame. You will find no spoilers here.

I also spent a some time really getting all my things together for boxing up. It's been difficult to put it all together. Everything is starting to feel a bit bare, and tomorrow I'm going to start filling boxes and getting an idea of how many boxes it'll actually all be.

On my instagram I posted a little video of me using my diabolo, as I uncovered it today while going through my stuff and I wanted to see what I could still do. I have lost my ability to whip catch, but aside from that, I remembered quite a lot of what I could do. Big throws are fun, but they're relatively easy, and look impressive, but throwing a whip catches look even better, then I have a slingshot circular one handed whip catch which is mad. I need to practice to be able to get that back, but I don't know when I'll be able to use my stuff again, as I'm not going to be taking it with me, and as such it needs to be thrown away or donated to charity.

I threw away a lot of clothes into the clothes banks today, and that was good. I had so many pairs of socks I kept past when I should have, with small holes in them, or just one, rather than the full pair. I have no idea where my second fozzy bear sock is, but I know one of them has been thrown away for sure.

Have an excellent day! You're all my favourites!

Day 1938: Wrestling Wednesday!

It’s been such a weird week in Wrestling. With some reversions to the superstar shake up, Kairi Sane’s last match in NXT, the split up of Aleister Black and Ricochet, and the renaming again of the Viking Raiders.

I need to spend some time watching the Road to Wrestling Dontaku on NJPW, but I think I’ll find some time for that soon.

I am glad that Aleister Black and Ricochet have been separated, and that they now have the opportunity to shine individually. I’m also glad that Cesaro had a singles match and won, I hope that he can have a good run and just show how amazing he really is. It’s a shame that Brodie Lee is leaving as the two of them I know from Chikara as the bigger guys on the roster.

I am intrigued with where the Johnny Gargano storyline is going with the Undisputed Era, and can’t wait to see more of it. I’m hopeful that it all pans out well. I’m also curious as to who the next challenger for the North American title will be. I want to see Dream vs Keith Lee or someone else, but I’d also like to see Riddle vs Keith Lee. There is so much potential in NXT right now, I don’t really know what’s going to happen with it all. The only thing I’d like to see mixed up is the Womens title, though with Kairi being called up, it’s not impossible to see that it is clearing out and there are new challengers around.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1937: Going to the Cinema!

Today I went to the cinema! It was a lot of fun! I saw Captain Marvel, and I really enjoyed it! I have also booked my tickets for Thursday for Endgame, and I saw my first trailer for it just before Captain Marvel.

I don’t know what else to say about Captain Marvel, I liked all the origins of things that it laid out, and the introductions of some characters.

Aside from that, today I received my boxes for packaging all my stuff for collection next week. I’m having to list everything that goes in to each box, and it’s becoming obvious that I actually don’t have that many things, which I guess is a blessing.

I’ve been kind of sorting my stuff out, I need to get a bit more stuff to the room where I’m boxing everything up, and I’ve got to make sure that all the heavier stuff gets separated out so no one box is significantly heavier than another.

That has been the vast majority of my day, I spent most of it while doing stuff listening to Baroness, which has been a lot of fun and quite inspiring.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1936: Music Monday!

The new Starbomb album came out! AAAHHH!

It’s called the Tryforce, and I like it!

There are a lot of great tracks on it, and it opens really well. I like the first few tracks, the intro is fun, the first real song is a song about Dark Souls, and we all know how I feel about Dark Souls.

I think my favourite song on the album is the one I’m also the most critical of, which is odd. The song that I like the most is the ‘A Wild Guitar Solo Appears!’, and while I think the intro is a bit weak, and sounds inconsistent within itself, I like the lyrics and music and vocals, and it all ties together really well.

I like the conclusion to the Simple Plot series, it’s fun, and just pokes fun respectfully at Kingdom Hearts, which is more complicated than it absolutely needs to be.

There’s a lot of interesting songs throughout the album, I don’t think any of them are bad, but some of them I just don’t think I’ll listen to as much as others, such as the Overwatch one. All of the Starbomb albums are like that, there are tracks that I just don’t gel with, so won’t listen to them again.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1935: Different

I’ve been playing Sky Factory 4 today. It is significantly different than the previous version. The main intro to the game is different. While you start on a tree, which is on a dirt block, above the endless void, the tree is now a resource which immediately allows you to create more dirt, and develop things. The progression to move through the early game is very interesting, you need to try different things to make progress. Different things require different activities to be done.

To make some trees you need to add water to a cauldron, then add a dirt block to that to make mud, then introduce one of the saplings to the mud mixture, and you will be afforded a new sapling. Interesting! Or you could add a leaf block to a cauldron of water to get a grass block. I need to get to understand further how to make things, but I’m having fun!

It’s not the same, and I’m glad, but it is taking me some time to get acquainted and back into playing Minecraft, and this is a pretty tough pack to just pick up and play, but the progression is good, it takes a bit of guiding from the achievement book thing, but it feels cohesive and good to make progress.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourite!

Day 1934: Chilling Out

It’s been a relaxing day, with bagels and cream cheese and sweet chilli sauce.

I’ve not achieved much, but I’ve done a little organising. I also sorted out some money transfer, and small things are happening. If a little is done each day, then after a week it’ll feel like a lot has actually been accomplished.

I have had a lot of time to watch stuff, my sister introduced me to Santa Clarita Diet, which was far more entertaining than I was expecting, then I watched a bunch of Achievement Hunter.

I’m about to start playing Sky Factory 4, which apparently changes a bunch of things from the previous packs and as released at the beginning of the week. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1933: A Good Friday!

Yesterday I put out a little podcast, it included mention of reflecting on my work, which is what my journal from yesterday was about. You can find the podcast here!

As for what I’ve been up to today, well, I spent a lot of time play Path of Exile, and working on obtaining currency to get build specific items. It’s been a productive day and I got a bunch of the stuff I needed, including the thing amulet that is probably the most important to the builds overall strength and has noticeably helped at clearing the mini-bosses.

I also took out the Elder, one of the end-game bosses, and his four guardians. I only died at the end of the Elder encounter, as I forgot what I needed to do, which was move to behind cover. It has been a productive day. I also spent a good chunk of time playing the Delve content and exploring the mines to get items I need to put into a recipe that generates currency. It turns out that the content can be explored between a certain range of depths and is rather profitable, which I guess is why items associated with it, such as scarabs and prophecies, are very sought after.

I’m still figuring more things out, I know I said this earlier in the week, but it’s a crazy complicated game, and it’s a lot of fun! Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1931: Wrestling Wednesday!

It’s been an odd week in the wrestling world. It really has. With the Superstar Shake-up going on, it’s all a bit confusing with who is moving where, who is staying where they are, and who is just straight up leaving.

I don’t like that War Raiders, formerly War Machine have been renamed again, but I can imagine in arenas of 10,000+ all chanting “WAR!” probably isn’t the best image for a company. They’re now the Viking Experience, but they went further and each of their names have been changed too.

I have no idea what is going on with Sasha Banks, that whole situation is confusing, people are reading into it, and it’s just got a bit messy, and difficult to understand. I don’t like that they lost at Wrestlemania, but we did get a hilarious 9 minute video of the Iiconics running around backstage being brilliant.

Last night a dumb decision was made, Ember Moon and Asuka teamed together circuitously, and that makes me mad. They need a finale to their feud, and recognition for what they’ve done.

All in all though, I have not much to add. I care about NXT and 205 Live, and I only really watch the main roster PPVs because I don’t have access to Raw and Smackdown. I hope that they call ups get treated properly.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Day 1930: still learning

I spent a bunch of time yesterday and today playing Path of Exile to try and make progress in the end game. It’s slow going, and after 3 hours each night, by my estimates, I’ve made only a tiny amount of progress. While I’ve been ironing out creases in my build, I definitely feel like I still need to understand more about the game. It’s not too concerning, until I looked at how many hours I’ve played it.

I’ve just crossed 500 hours in game, though I know a bunch of that will have been spent standing in the town area, not doing much, consulting a build guide, trying to buy items, and just generally paying attention to other things. That’s not to excuse my poor amount of progress in the game, but I did see some posts on the subreddit where people say that the actual proportion of players that beat the final boss of the end game every league is actually really low, and that a lot of people that I see commenting actually remark that they’ve been playing a few leagues and only in one or two of them have they actually beaten the highest end boss.

Clearly I still have work to do, but altogether I’m a bit more enthused about playing and my motivation to play is good. There are things I can change, things I can work on, I can try other builds. I’m working on three entirely different characters right now, so I’m trying to see how it all works. Next league there will be a dramatic rework of the melee skills, so I’ll try those then, but for now I’m playing 3 different caster styles, and having a great time.

This week is getting a bit crazy and hectic and I need a place to escape, thus I have delved in to Path of Exile.

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!

Peace -x-

Day 1929: Music Monday!

Yesterday I put out a new song! I worked with a singer called Seasideblues and a lyricist called Gargig. We created a indie rock like song with a very spacey theme, as the round theme for Game of Bands was Retrofuturism.

It’s called Still Can’t Replace You and I’m pretty happy with how it came out. I think the more I listen to it, especially now as I’ve had some time away from it there’s some things I’d like to change. I think the vocals are a bit loud in places and trip themselves up, and I could have lowered the volume on them to make them far more ambient. There were also another set of lyrics written, which would have told more of a story, but time restraints didn’t allow us to get them put together.

Like I said, I’m pretty happy with it, you can check it out here!

Have an excellent day! You’re all my favourites!
